ITS ONGOING PROGRAM WITH "TEANECK TAPESTRY OF TALENT"

The newly formed Teaneck Festival of the Arts at Cedar Lane Cinemas (FOA) will inaugurate a series of live performances at the movie theater with a program on January 26, entitled "Teaneck's Tapestry of Talent." It will highlight the wealth of talented professionals who reside in the community.

Artists from a variety of fields, including classical music, jazz, dance, theater and film will participate in the gala program, starting at 8 pm, at the Cedar Lane Cinemas in the town's business district.

The FOA is a project of the non-profit PuffIn Foundation Ltd., which has long supported cultural and educational activities in Teaneck's public schools, The Teaneck Creek Conservancy Inc. and the activities of the Puffin Cultural Forum.

...January 26th opening event reflects the FOA's mission statement, "Dedicated to creating a dynamic' cultural arts center in Teaneck, reflecting the rich heritage of our diverse community."

The FOA enjoys the cooperation of Mayor Elie Katz, local schools, businesses and other organizations. Plans for unique cultural programs throughout the year is anticipated with participation of a broad array of artists.

"The FOA will be the focus for a major cultural arts center in Teaneck, New Jersey," said Lauren Hooker, FOA artistic director and production coordinator.

Chairperson, Jacqueline Kates added: "Our hope and mission is to work towards the eventual creation of a cultural and performing arts center in our Township. We hope that live performance events at the Cedar Lane Cinemas will be a step in building community support for a permenant Center for the Arts in our community."
